Window Tinting NCT Guide Tips

Window Tinting NCT Guide Tips

Heavily tinted windows or front side tinted windows can present a safety hazard for vehicle drivers who are visually impaired and their occupants if not installed correctly. Visibility can be greatly reduced, particularly for night time driving and at times of low light.  There are also enforcement issues for An Garda Síochána in regard to driver recognition, the detection of driving offences e.g. holding a mobile phone while driving, and other criminal activity.

If the NCT vehicle inspector deems that the windscreen or front side windows are excessively tinted the level of light transmission of the window will be tested. The glass in the windscreen and front side windows will be required to have a light transmission level of not less than 65% in order to pass the NCT test. Tinting of these windows must not be greater than 35%, unfortunately the National Car Testing Regulations do not allow for any exemptions in this regard.

Audi S8 598bhp V8 TFSI | TINT IT

Posted on 06-Aug-2015 19:07:05 by Phil Browne in Audi S8

The new Audi S8 Update

Come on, 598bhp is frankly ridiculous, isn't it?

Yes it is, and the big German manufacturers seem to be embroiled in a winky waving contest to prove who has the fastest executive saloon. And Audi just brought out its big guns, with the upcoming S8 plus.

It's a sleek speed machine that's powered by a 4.0-litre V8 TFSI and can tickle 189mph. Cheeky.

But I just bought a Mercedes AMG S 65, should I have kept the receipt?

Ha ha, you silly scamp. But seriously, yes. Because despite your swanky motor boasting more horses under the bonnet, the new Audi features a featherweight, predominantly aluminium space frame, so it's lighter and therefore quicker to 62mph from a standstill.

It'll do it in just 3.8 seconds, in case you needed more bad news to completely ruin your day.

  • 4.0-litre V8 TFSI top speed 189MPH
  • 0-60MPH IN 3.8 seconds
  • 598BHP

Paint Protection Film | What is it?

You’re proud of how your car looks, now it's time to protect it. Paint Protection Film (known as PPF) is a durable, high-grade, colourless urethane film that is applied to the high-impact areas of your vehicle such as the bonnet, front bumper, wing mirrors and the door edges, the main areas that take the brunt of the hits from debris on the road. Paint protection film is a virtually invisible barrier against flying road debris, abrasion and weathering and also resists yellowing from sunlight, making it also a UV paint protection film.
